The Wheel of the Year

The Wheel of the Year embodies the 8 spokes of the solar cycle, based on the 2 solstices, 2 equinoxes, and 4 cross-quarter holidays.

Ffynnon’s Wheel of the Year is intimately tied to the dynamics of the seasons we experience on the land. Our connection is symbolized by identifying with the life cycle of the trees of our forest and by extension to all life; for without them, we are not.

The life cycle of the trees is at the heart of Ffynnon: Seed - Sprout - Seedling - Sapling - Stripling - Mature - Fruiting - Snag

    Spring Herb Garden Prep

    Saturday, April 1, 2023 12 pm - 4 pm

Lead: Katrina Bubas Stevens / Aradia La Rosa
Location: Mother’s Herb Garden, ex-horse corral, Ffynnon

Join us on Member’s Weekend for an introduction to Mother’s Herb Garden at Ffynnon! We will gather ‘round the garden, learn what we have growing, why it was planted, offer a blessing for the coming year, and help the garden by giving it a Spring clean up. Bring garden gloves, clippers, rakes, and shovels. We’ll prune last year’s foliage, spread a fresh layer of compost to give the plants a healthy boost, and infuse the garden with our Community Love!

Be sure to dress for the weather and pack a lunch. We’ll have tea and light snacks. Be sure to RSVP by clicking the Registration button - it’s Free! This is a family event, children must be supervised by an adult. See you at the Garden!

    May 18-21st

During the Season of the Bull, under a new moon in Taurus, and a solar transition into Taurus.

Join us at Ffynnon to commune with nature in Her Aphroditic form!

Walk with Her as the Paleolithic Mother of All and witness Her transformation into the modern Mother of Love - symbolized in Her son Eros.

Join in Her mystery of ‘The Awakening of Psyche’ and in doing so awaken your own psyche to the gifts of Love - not only of the Goddess but also of community!

Friday - We will meet Aphrodite and Psyche during the day and then ignite the Belfire, sing Pagan campfire chants, commune, and dance around the flames!

Saturday - During the day, we will erect the Maypole, which will become the symbolic community Pale for the year. That evening we will then share in the gifts of Eros to Psyche in a Tantric Rite that is meant for all to attendee. Please Note: For the rite you will need a partner, but it does not need to be a romantic partner, just someone you feel open to connecting deeply with.

Sunday - Aphrodite will provide Psyche, and as such all of you, with the wings you need to fly with Love for the rest of the Year!

    Lammas-Tide Harvest Feast

    Dionysos Xenios,
    Dionysos, the Hospitable One,
Invites You to Attend a Lammas-Tide

    Harvest Feast

    at Ffynnon
    AUG 5th

    3pm - 8pm

The Lord of the Vine, Dionysos the Hospitable One, invites you to a Theoxenia (Thee-ox-zania), an ancient Greek feast of Divine Hospitality. In honor of our Harvest of First Fruits (eatable and otherwise), let us join together in a Community Feast—sharing food, drink, and conversation.

The ancient rite of Theoxenia was modeled largely on the Greek symposion, a word that means “drinking together.” Guests ate, drank mixed wine and water, and shared conversation on a topic chosen by the host. The topic of choice for this Theoxenia is Gratitude, Service & Love.

In Gratitude, we celebrate our Harvest together and offer thanks to the God and to all our Divine Ones.

In Service, we will take turns serving food to each other during the various courses of the Feast.

In Love, we join together as a community to share our harvests and our joys with each other under the purview of Dionysos Symposiarch—Dionysos Leader of the Symposion and Lord of Divine Hospitality.

You are encouraged to bring entertainment--a story, song, poem, topic for group discussion; all offerings are on the theme of Gratitude, Service & Love...or any part thereof. Please specify when you register if you would like to entertain.

This is a free Lammas event for all Ffynnon Members and supporters, but attendance will be limited so please register soon!

We gladly accept any and all donations to help us as we grow and become a better space for our community.

    Rites of our Ancestors

    October 29th
    11am - 3 pm

Come prepared to muscle down the Beltane Maypole and put your energy into cutting your own piece to place ceremoniously in the ancestor shrine. Now is the season when we enter the darkness, allowing our creative energies to stir inside, a seed blanketed for the winter - transforming - in anticipation of new life!

Participate in ritual and meet the Great Bone Goddess - Keeper of our Beloved Dead!

Along with cutting the Maypole, attendees will make creative offerings representative of the ancestors to utilize during a Rite of Samhain. We will spiral down into the underworld, carrying our creative offerings, and meet the Great Bone Goddess who cares for our Beloved Dead.

Afterwards, we will spiral back up, turning the wheel of the year, and recognizing the gifts of the Witches' New Year! New life and new endeavors abound for us all - supported by our ancestors, we will call out the names of all the new children who have come to join us this year, along with any new endeavors we have begun!

The end is always the beginning!

This event will be taking place outdoors, so please dress for the weather and wear proper footwear. Ffynnon will provide popups, tables and seating, but if you have a favorite camp chair, please bring it.

Fresh apple cider and cakes will be supplied at the end of the event to ground and warm us for our journeys home.

This is a Free community rite, but we still need you to register. We look forward to celebrating and experiencing ritual together with you!

Activity: Bring down the Maypole, adorn the Ancestor Shrine, final harvest

This is the final harvest of the season where we bring the Maypole down, divide it into logs, then use them to support the magic of the Ancestor Shrine. We journey deep into the Underworld and connect with our ancestors, allowing our creative energies to stir inside, a seed blanketed for the winter - transforming - with Their blessings and in anticipation of new life.

We walk the forest, observing the snags where Nature has reclaimed its resources through the standing dead trees that provide habitat and nutrients to the forest.

December 24th from noon to 3pm

Join us at Ffynnon on December 24th from noon to 3pm for a Yuletide celebration where we will drink mulled cider and burn the Ffynnon Yule log - the longest remaining piece of this year’s Maypole!

Activity: Burn the Yule log - collect the ash

We gather around a warm fire and celebrate the Winter Solstice as we burn the Yule log which is a log from the Maypole, now brought forth from the Ancestor Shrine. Doing this we prepare ourselves for the darkest days to come wherein we contemplate the blessings we wish to bring to the community at next year’s Beltane rites, and sing carols and praises for the Return of the Light on the Longest Night.

We collect the Sacred Ash from the Yule fire, keeping its nourishing carbon and minerals to return to the land for the overwintered seeds at Imbolc.

This is a free event for our members and the public but registration is still required. We will be outside so dress prepared for the weather, and bring snacks if desired.
